Gas City , Indiana

Gas City, Indiana was supposed to be the following weekend, but due to rain we got pushed to the 19th of June. First practice of Gas City was a lot of fun. It was like riding on glue because when you got into the turns you just stuck and its actually really had to get the bike to get turned. Second practice the track started getting slick and dry and third practice they watered it which made it wet and greasy. As you can tell the track was very inconsistent, so we all had our work cut out. For the heat I was on the second row second from pole. I got a bad start going into one because I got pinched being on the low line. I put my head down and rode really hard on the outside of everyone to finish the heat in 7th right beside of Mikey Avila going across the line for 6th. We made some changes to the bike to try and get me off the turn because the track was starting to dry out again and get slick. In the main event I had the worse starting position, I was third row inside. I got a good jump, but when I went into turn one I got pinched again. The track was shaping up to be a dry slick, which happens to be one of my weaknesses. I searched high and low on the track and couldn’t find that little extra edge like I found in the heat to move forward. I was slowly passing people, but 12 laps isn’t a lot of laps to make moves. I came across the line in 12th. I was super happy because to be honest I thought I was further back then what I was. A 12th place finish moved me up to 12th place in points and Lima was next on the schedule.
